Job Description:

To manage, motivate and lead a team of Warehouse colleagues for goods receipt and administration, ensuring that the operation is run efficiently and that all customer service standards are achieved

Job Responsibilities:

• Communicate effectively to internal and external customers
• To lead by example in all aspects of the role
• To liaise with the customer and suppliers as required regarding operational matters
• To assist in the recruitment of colleagues as necessary
• Brief the teams at the beginning of each shift and ensure that all relevant communication, feedback and recognition are carried out in an accurate and timely manner
• Train and develop operational staff in line with both customer and Sainsbury`s requirements
• Ensure that Senior Management is kept informed of all operational issues, in particular those that may lead to service disruption or non-delivery
• Ensure contractual service levels are met through efficient running of the warehouse operation
• Ensure that the company’s Health and Safety policies are adhered to and that all operational legislative requirements are fulfilled at all times
• Identify and carry out operations improvement within the warehouse and ensure accurate information is communicated
• Manage both colleagues and equipment resources in line with budgetary constraints
• Prioritise work flow in line with business needs

Job Requirements:

• High levels of numeracy and literacy essential
• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
• Has the ability to problem solve, apply lateral thinking and take decisions as appropriate
• Ability to work under pressure and to react as necessary to changes
• Proven experience in a temperature controlled Warehouse environment
• Computer literate in all Microsoft packages – Word, Excel and Outlook
• An excellent team builder with interpersonal skills
