Job Responsibilities:

  • To participate in regular supervisions, reviews and appraisals. Be proactive with your line manager in carrying out periodic case reviews based on a review of risk and abuse which:
  • Supporting clients through the Family Courts and Criminal Justice Systems
  • Working directly with all key partner agencies to address the safety of high risk victims and ensuring that their safety plans are coordinated particularly through the MARAC
  • Manage a caseload ensuring each client receives the appropriate service individual to their needs
  • Referring and signpost clients to relevant agencies for longer term or additional needs for further support
  • Devise and deliver adequate training, workshops and presentations to partner agencies and client groups as appropriate
  • Maintain accurate and confidential case management records and contribute to monitoring information for the service
  • Participating in relevant statutory meetings in order to safeguard clients and children keeping client’s safety at the forefront of proceedings
  • Support the empowerment of the client and assist them in recognising the features and dynamics of domestic abuse present in their situation
  • To participate in Local One Stop Shop for victims of domestic violence providing direct support, advice, information and advocacy
  • Referring High Risk clients to MARACs
  • Understanding the role of all relevant statutory and non-statutory services available to domestic abuse victims and how your role fits into these services

Job Requirements:

  • Able to work on own initiative as well as part of a team
  • Crisis management skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Good IT and administrative skills
  • Able to operate within confidentiality and data protection policies
  • Organised and methodical approach to work

Qualification & Experience:

  • Good level of general education, literacy and numeracy to A-Level or equivalent standard
  • At least 2 years’ experience of working directly with victims of domestic & sexual or similar client group
  • CAADA advocacy training on domestic abuse and sexual abuse essential (Qualified IDVA/IDSVA)
