Governors of this popular, successful and highly over–subscribed 11-16 High School are seeking to appoint a committed, personable and motivated Safeguarding in Education Officer to contribute towards the efficient operation of the school.  We require an enthusiastic and hardworking person who is committed to delivering a high-class service in safeguarding advice and support on all safeguarding related issues in school.

Job Responsibilities:

This role will involve taking responsibility for providing high quality safeguarding advice and support on all safeguarding related issues in school. You will possess an extensive knowledge and experience of safeguarding children with a strong background in schools, education or children’s social care in order to provide practical and emotional support to The Elton High School children, their families, carers and staff. You will be responsible for and committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people for ensuring that they are protected from harm. Our most recent Ofsted inspection (February 2023) reiterated the strengths that had been confirmed in the previous report (2017) and are firmly embedded across our school. The inspection team noted that ‘pupils are proud to attend’ Elton with an established culture of ‘high aspirations for what pupils can achieve’. Our students achieve well, with the inspectors being particularly impressed with the climate for learning and behaviour of our students – their ‘positive behaviour at all times is characteristic of the respectful culture of this school [and] their positive conduct reflects leaders’ high standards
