Job Description:

Working alongside our Catchment Engineers and local Operations Teams, you will give engineering input to decision-making in our Asset Performance, MEICA and Field Teams. This role is integral to delivering modern asset management by ensuring best practice in whole lifecycle asset management. You will enjoy engaging others and working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, both virtually and face to face.

Job Responsibilities:

You will also be aware of climate change implications to the ongoing and future management of assets, and you will support and pursue net carbon zero strategies for the management of our assets. This role also supports complex asset improvements and so you will represent the Environment Agency on projects delivered by others, including the management of associated contractors. Risk Management through active monitoring and technical assurance are integral to the role, as is contribution to our plans for incident preparedness. A key element of the role will be in encouraging, coaching, and mentoring less experienced members of the team to help develop the next generation of engineers for the Area. This role provides a great opportunity to work on range of key projects, by contributing to our work in protecting people and property in flood risk areas.

Job Requirements:

  • Proven track record of stakeholder management
  • Practical experience in managing assets, ideally within the flood risk sector
  • Health, Safety & Environmental experience, and awareness
  • Contract Management experience within the construction sector
  • Flood Risk Management Knowledge
  • An engineering qualification and practical experience,
