Job Description:

We are looking to recruit a Head of Asset Management and High Risk Investments Unit within the Personal Finances and Funds Team, which sits in our Financial Services Group. The Financial Services Group advises the government on how to promote a stable and efficient financial services sector, to deliver excellent outcomes for consumers and business, enhance the UK’s position as a global hub for financial services and support economic growth across the country. The Personal Finances and Funds team brings together the strategic oversight of the asset management, financial advice, consumer credit and debt advice sectors in the UK, with a focus on the protection of consumers to whom they provide their products and services.

Job Responsibilities:

• Delivering on the government’s domestic priorities for the sector, including those that cement and grow the UK’s status as a global hub for asset management.
• Leading HMT’s engagement with senior asset management stakeholders, including through the minister-led Asset Management Taskforce.
• Provide strategic direction and coordination across financial services group for policies related to high-risk investment, as well as leading on the regulation of financial promotions and of so-called ‘minibonds’.
