Job Description:

The Associate Director Biomarker Strategy will have responsibility for developing and effectively implementing biomarker strategies to support the clinical development plans for the therapeutic portfolio of the Lung Cancer Initiative (LCI) Pharmaceutical Sciences team. Working as part of clinical team, the candidate will develop and validate molecular, immunological, pathological, and/or imaging biomarkers to help improve understanding of disease biology, enable patient selection strategies, and evaluate response in lung cancer.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain translational and clinical biomarker strategies to support assets within the LCI Pharmaceutical Science team portfolio
  • Working with the discovery team to develop plans for clinical translation of biomarkers
  • Work with internal biomarker groups and biomarker vendors contract research to deliver validated biomarker assays
  • Provide biomarker input at Solution Development Teams and governance reviews
  • Working with data science group to develop and implement data analysis strategies for biomarker plans
  • Support the development of biomarker related aspects of the trial design, study protocols, reference manuals, central lab worksheets clinical study reports, investigator brochures and regulatory documents

Job Requirements:

  • Experience of working with Contract Research Organizations to deliver biomarker readouts is required
  • Knowledge and track-record of working to GCP principles as part of a clinical study team is required
  • Experience and track-record of the discovery, validation and clinical implementation of biomarker readouts-especially histological/pathological readouts, genomic and transcriptomic profiling and immunological readouts is required
  • Good interpersonal and matrix working skills is required
  • Ability to influence teams and key stakeholders is required
  • Knowledge and experience of implementing biomarkers in oncology trials, particularly lung cancer trials is required
  • 5+ Years of Experience in biomarker development/implementation is required
