Job Responsibilities:
- Perform the L1/L2/L3 support activities for the Production Support project with analysis and design work, including impact of requirements across all system components
- Design self-healing and resiliency patterns
- Design automated software and product upgrades, change management, and release management solutions
- Infrastructure development
- Engage with development team throughout the life cycle to help develop software for reliability and scale, ensuring minimal refactoring or changes
- Tuning & optimization
- Troubleshoot priority incidents, facilitate blameless post-mortems and ensure permanent closure of incidents
- Tooling & Telemetry
- Identify application patterns and analytics in support of better service level objectives
- Design, code, test and deliver software to automate manual operational work
- Participate in the 24×7 support coverage as needed
- Create unit test cases, perform unit testing, document test results and perform code reviews
Job Requirements:
- Understanding of the Python, Java/J2EE technology stack, web technologies, experience with Unix/Linux, JDBC, relational databases such as Oracle.
- Proficiency in one or more technology domains, may be a cross-domain expert able to solve complex and mission critical problems within a business or across the firm
- Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills
- Knowledge of infrastructure components is preferred (E.g. routers, load balancers, cloud products, container systems, compute, storage and networks)
- Experience with log analysis and monitoring tools such as Geneos/AppDynamics/SPLUNK
- Understanding of Bigdata technologies, concepts and technology exposure.
- Experience in Oracle SQL queries; optimization; Unix/Linux shell scripting
- Require basic understanding and willingness to learn on the job skills around reporting tool like Tableau
- Engineering degree or equivalent experience
- Experience in job schedulers such as Autosys or Control M
Qualification & Experience:
- Desired – experience in automating deployment, releases and testing in continuous integration, continuous delivery pipelines
- Desired – understanding of distributed tracing and monitoring (Zipkin, OpenTracing, Prometheus, ELK stack, Micrometer metrics, etc.)
- Desired – understanding of security frameworks / standards
- Desired – understanding of data streaming and messaging frameworks (Kafka, Spark, etc.)
- Experience in the all stages of software development lifecycle (requirements, design, architecture, development, testing, deployment, release and support)
- At least 2 years of recent hands-on professional experience (actively coding) working as a back-end software engineer
- Understanding of distributed systems and cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.)
- Understanding of relational databases
- Desired – experience with containers (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)
- Understanding of RESTful APIs and web technologies
- Extensive experience with using a JVM language (Java/Scala/Kotlin, preferably Java 8+)
- Understanding of microservices architecture
- Professional experience working in an agile, dynamic and customer facing environment
- Academic qualification in a computer science or STEM (science, technology, engineering or mathematics) related field or the foreign equivalent
- A solid approach to writing unit level tests using mocking frameworks, as well as automating component, integration and end-to-end tests
- Understanding of dependency injection frameworks (Spring / SpringBoot, Guice, etc.)
