Job Description:
The Environment Service is currently seeking an Environmental Strategy Assistant to work within a vibrant and dynamic Waste Strategy Team. You will be located in Council Offices in Huddersfield or Dewsbury.
Job Responsibilities:
You will work closely with colleagues in ourWaste Strategy and Operations Team providing them with performance data on recycling. This will include the use of the green bin recycling and brown bin garden waste service as well as a comprehensive network of community recycling sites and administering the districts Household Waste Recycling Centre permit scheme. You will provide vital support to our Waste Operations (refuse collection) Team by helping to triage jobs in our Operating System, effectively dealing with service enquiries and complaints on matters such as missed bin collections, administering the assisted bin collection service and provision of the additional domestic grey bin service. You will participate in the development of a team approach by supporting colleagues on waste and recycling initiatives, campaigns and promotions to deliver our service priorities. You will represent and attend, in conjunction with the team: community events, roadshows, school workshops, galas and festivals and other promotional events as required.

- Be proactive, use your own initiative when required to resolve service user enquiries professionally in line with service guidelines and procedures.
- Be flexible and have the skills and ability to work under pressure to strict programme deadlines and timetables.
