Job Description:

The National Adoption team is working with leaders of Regional Adoption Agencies to deliver improved outcomes for children needing adoption and to improve the range of services and support for families.

Job Responsibilities:

This role will be responsible for leading on and co-ordinating Regional Adoption Agencies (RAA’s) work with children and young people and working with colleagues to enable all adopted children and young people to have their voices heard and influence change. This is a new role and initially will scope out existing practices in Regional Adoption Agencies which will result in an agreed strategy being developed and agreed by RAA leaders. The role will support with strategic guidance and practical support to RAA’s, decision makers and key stakeholders to ensure that children and young people are meaningfully involved in the development and review of priorities, policies, strategies and the services they access. The post holder will work from home although regular attendance at meetings in Leeds will be required and attendance at key events around the country will also be essential.

Job Requirements:

Good communication skills are essential as the role involves working with a wide range of stakeholders across the country. You will have experience of delivering projects/programmes with children and young people and have significant experience of participation work with children and young people who have been looked after in local authority or adopted.
